Teller Family History

25 February 2008

Some of you may have been wondering when (or even if) we were ever going to get around to the Teller side of the family history here–being, after all, the Stoutenburgh-TELLER Family Association website. Our apologies for that. There is, quite frankly, a serious gap in our knowledge of the early Teller family history. We would much appreciate the addition of any information and resources that you may be aware of out there, so feel free to comment here and let us know. (more…)

Cannon Balls & The Revolution

27 January 2008

Here’s another of those articles from the Stoutenburgh-Teller Family Association’s annual newsletter. This one is by by Ila Stoutenburgh-Malloy and was published in the August 15, 2002 newsletter. It relates to the Revolutionary War and some cannon balls kept as trophies. Apparently they used to sit on the fireplace mantel in the Stoutenburgh home, but I don’t have any pictures of that. Fascinating Descendants

For those of you who were not aware of it, The Stoutenburgh-Teller Family Association publishes an annual newsletter for its members and has been doing so for some years now. Stoutenburgh Family Burying Ground

29 November 2007

With Ila’s recent trip back to New York to visit the Stoutenburgh house as well as Hyde Park and the cemetery, we now have a wealth of photos and historical information to share with you. Please be patient as we sort through all of this. Editing the photos to fit the website and be presentable is a major job all by itself. The historical and background information requires various permissions for use…etc., etc., etc. (more…)

New Founding Family Photos

6 October 2007

With special thanks to Mrs. James Spratt for sending us the photos, we’ve now been able to add a Founding Family page to our photo album. She sent photos of the portraits of Jacobus Stoutenburgh and Margaret Teller. As you may have already noticed, they’ve also been added to the background of the site. Please keep in mind that it’s only through this kind of sharing of information, photos, documents, etc. that we can continue to expand this site as a true historical resource.
