It states,..The king conferred upon Groen the title "van Prinsterer" or "of the king." Surely it is evident from the quotation itself that is was a Prince NOT a King who conferred? Also I would point out that the serious animosity between Prince Maurice and JVOB was I believe really due to JVOB's refusal to allow Maurice to become King of the States of Holland. (He was the stateholder of only five of the states) Maurice was greatly angered by JVOB patiently arranging for Maurices mother to explain to Maurice.. that he Maurice didn't have the authority to demand that of JVOB, who was after all appointed by ALL the States of Holland.
